Gaspard Kummer - Quintet Op. 66 Movement #4 Allegreto con moto
Descripción en Youtube:
The four movement Flute Quintet Op. 66 by Gaspard Kummer (1795 - 1870) was performed on Red Cedar Chamber Music's concert series on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Video by John Richard of Iowa City, IA with audio by Peter Nothnagle of Iowa City, IA. Artist sponsorship provided by Don & Irene (Naxera) Hamous. Flutist Jan Boland, violinist Miera Kim, violists Lisa Ponton & Beth Hoffman and cellist Carey Bostian read from the original 19th-century edition discovered by Jan Boland during a sleuthing mission to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. Although little known today, Kummer was considered a master composer by his contemporaries and his fine craftsmanship with melody and harmony are on full display in this little-known Flute Quintet, which uses two violas instead of the two violins traditionally used in string quartets.
