Born in Winterthur, Switzerland, on 20th September 1983 to a family of musicians. Piano lessons since the age of five. First solo concert at the age of seven. 1997 Debut at the Big Hall of the Tonhalle Zurich together with her Trio «Da capo», as winners of the Jecklin Festival. Undergraduate piano studies with Silvia Näsbom-Thellung and Prof. Karl-Andreas Kolly in Zurich (ZHdK, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) and with Yelena Scherbakova at the «Universidad Mayor de Chile» in Santiago, Chile, where she succesfully completed her «licenciatura» (≈ Master degree) with highest distinction in 2006. 2004 Special price at the international piano competition named after Claudio Arrau in Quilpué, Chile. Since 2007, PhD student at the Saint Petersburg State conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov in St. Petersburg, Russia, studying with Pofessor Oleg Malov. In November 2009, she performed her graduation concert, receiving an «excellent» mark. Her dissertation work focuses on the Swiss pianist and composer Emil Frey and his creative efforts in Russia during the early part of the 20th century. Concerts as a soloist and chamber musician during the last five years in Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Portugal, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Belgium, England, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and the US. Beside pursuing her concert career, Luisa Splett also works on her dissertation and organizes concerts and festivals in Switzerland and Russia. She is also very interested in learning languages -- beside German, she is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Russian (the language she is writing her dissertation in). In 2010, she played over 20 solo recitals in different countries -- beside chamber and vocal music. For 2011, concerts are planned in Switzerland, England, Belgium, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and the US (Carnegie Hall Debut on May 26th). Recorded live at the Tonhalle Zurich, in December 2011.
