The triumphant Polovtsian Khan Konchak, having defeated Prince Igor, magnanimously entertains him with a series of songs and dances performed by his young male slaves and the most comely Polovtsian maidens. The young girls compare love to a flower which droops in the heat of day but which is revived at night.
