Alexander Konstantinovich Glazunov (1865-1936) composed his first Piano Concerto (in F minor,opus 92) in 1911 (published in 1912), during his tenure as director of the S.Petersburg Conservatory. The concerto is dedicated to Leopold Godowsky, whom Glazunov had heard on tour in S.Petersburg in 1905.
The concerto is written in two movements, the second being a theme and variations:
