Descripción en Youtube:
The Catalan composer Francesc (or Francisco) Alió (1862-1908) is remembered as a pioneer of the study of Catalan folk music. He published arrangements of Catalan folk songs and also wrote the Catalan national hymn. I was interested to see that at the foot of the pages of the published score are adverts for salon pieces by Albeniz. Albeniz (1860-1909) was a near contemporary, and similarly short-lived composer, and this barcarolle is reminiscent of Albeniz's salon style. It demands perhaps more subtlety of dynamic than I can present in this camcorder recording, but I hope nevertheless that I have 'sold' this beautiful piece to someone!
