The Danish Music prize "Leonié Sonnings Musikpris" is one of the major prizes in Denmark. The prize is given alternately to a composer and a performer, and the list of recipients is long starting in 1959 with Igor Stravinsky who has been followed by names such as Bernstein, Britten, Lutoslawski, Sjostakovich, Messiaen, Ligeti, Nørgård, Gubaidulina and Saariaho and in 2015 it was Thomas Adés who received the prize. Athelas Sinfonietta played one of the Concerts on that occasion - with a programme chosen by Adés. Here his Opus 2! A virtuoso and challenging piece with the grandeur of a Symphony - but it is just a Chamber Symphony.
