Description on Youtube:
This waltz is from a group of 12 watlzes that the Brazilian composer Francisco Mignone wrote from 1938 - 1943 under the collective name "Valsas de Esquina" which literally means Waltzes of the "Corner" Bar, and were intended to depict the type of music one might hear a pianist play at a local bar or bistro in Sao Paolo during the 1940's. This wistful waltz is one of my favorites, and exhibits Mignone's penchant for giving prominent melodies to both the right hand and left hand.
