Another trio arrangement for bassoon, viola & accordion by Nick Ariondo, arranged for colleagues Andrew Klein-bassoon, John Acevedo-viola. Odeon (Tango Brasiliero), by Ernesto Nazareth (1863-1934), a prolific composer of popular Brazilian music, integrated folk and dance idioms of Brazil in his compositions. Ariondo's arrangement introduces the bassoon & viola followed by the accordion as the music dances along in an uplifting style -- lilting rhythms, elongated melodic lines and chord sequences reminiscent of the vibrant music throughout Brazil and South America.
