J. Chr. Bach (1735 - 1782) - Bassoon Concerto in B-flat major, W.C83. Cadenzas by H. Lange
Overshadowed by E-flat major bassoon concerto by the same composer, this work seems undeservedly underrated. Written around 1765-1770, bassoon concerto in B-flat major is a large scale work that combines beautiful introductions, entertaining dialogues between solo bassoon and the orchestra as well as pastoral lyricism and sheer virtuosity.
It is also considered to be one of J. Chr. Bach's works that influenced W. A. Mozart's wind concerto style significantly.
