The great Miserere in b-moll of Ernest Theodore Amadeus Hoffmann (1776-1822). Parts 1-5: Miserere mei, Deus Ecce enim Ecce enim veritatem Asperges me Auditui meo dabis Although E.T.A Hoffmann is best known for his famous literary works, such as the Kreisleriana, Fantasiestucke, Nachtstucke, etc. which inspired Robert Schumann and other great composers such as P.I Tchaikovsky (who wrote the Nutckracker ballet on the basis of Hoffmann's famous story), Hoffmann was also in love with music all his life, as his inspired writings show, both literary and musical. He wrote sacred and chamber music, piano sonatas, an opera "Undine", songs, and symphonic works. Today his music is published by Breitkopf & Hartel and Schott Music.
