From 1969 to 1996, The Cleveland Quartet, hailed as one of the premier string quartets of their time, played more than 2,500 concerts in all the great music capitals of the world, and individually established themselves as among the most important teachers of their generation. During these 26 years of intensive music-making. the Cleveland Quartet performed nearly 30 complete Beethoven quartet cycles in New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Paris, Rome, London, Florence, and Tokyo; made recital tours of more than 100 concerts per year throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan, the former Soviet Union, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Eastern Asia; performed at the White House and made frequent radio and television appearances including the Today Show, Good Morning America, and the Grammy Awards Telecast. Their more than 70 recording including 11 Grammy Nominations and 2 Grammy Awards and were made on the RCA, Telarc, Sony, Philips, and ProArte labels.
