This is my performance of a piece composed by Sam Zyman in 1996. Sam Zyman is a composer of Mexican origin living in New York and teaching at the Juilliard School. The piece unifies a lot of disparate influences, including jazz, in two distinct sections - one percussive and insistent, the other melancholy and, as it progresses, dramatic.
