Symphonic poem Indra is one of Holst early pieces, sometimes named by the composer himself one of his "early horrors", yet its beauty and charm already show some craft and originality. It is based on the legend of Indra, the God of Heavens, Rain and Thunder in Hinduism.
El poema sinfónico Indra es una de las piezas tempranas de Holst, aquellas que el propio compositor calificaría como sus "yerros de juventud". Sin embargo, su belleza y encanto muestran algo de su futura originalidad. Está basada en la leyenda de Indra, dios hindú del cielo, la lluvia y el relámpago.
